Back on Third Shift, After Two Years? The Story!

Good Morning all! Or good afternoon or evening in other places of this wonderful world! So you may ask, why title this post like whats shown above? Well it’s simple! I was back on third shift after two years! Only temporarily though, thank goodness! Being on this shift reminded me of my life back in 2016, the year I first met my now amazing and beautiful wife!

See back in 2016, I had just gotten out of a very controlling relationship, one that wasn’t good for my health or the others. It was also a year that I had moved on to a new job, lost that one and then began my now successful security career. (At least it feels pretty successful to me!) August 31, 2016 marked the first day of my career with Allied Universal Security Services! To be honest at the time, it was just the only job I could find and get myself into fairly quickly…but now I look back and I’m very content with how it started and where I am now.

But back to the topic at hand…the reason why I was working third shift back then. Well the reasoning for that is actually VERY simple! Hahaha! My, now wife, but girlfriend at the time, was 13 hours ahead of me! Well here’s what happen, see earlier in 2016 by ex had broken up with me, it was actually at the end of December 2015, beginning of January 2016. She had demanded a lot from me, not all bad, but not all good either. She told me I should move out of my parents house, get a different job, since I hated the job I was in at the time, and then go back to school.

Needless to say, I followed all of those, but it just wasn’t enough. More and more kept on being demanded between the two of us, and well, eventually everything fell apart. She moved on to Arizona, got with the guy that I was trying to get her to stop seeing, but couldn’t get her to stop, so on and so forth…you know, like a lot of different relationships now in this day. People don’t feel each other anymore, start talking to someone else, sees that they give them something the other one doesn’t starts seeing them more and more, and talking to the other less and less, etc. You get the idea?

Well you know how the saying goes, 20/20 hindsight! I look back and I’m rather happy I was out of that one and in the current one I’m in now, hell, I married the love of my life! Well in 2016, after that break-up, I was on Tinder, trying to get hook-ups, you know, because that’s pretty much what Tinder is for right? well out of the blue, I super liked this very beautiful pacific islander, her name was Micah Obillo. Now, obviously it’s Micah Schmidt! Hahaha! Anyways, when I was having a rough time, she was their talking to me and helping me through it.

An Angel in disguise if I had any way of describing her. After talking for a long while, and finally fully getting over my ex, she confessed to me that she like me! A woman saying that! Wow! Usually, in American culture, the norm is the man confessing and not the woman. (At least that is how I was raised to believe, come to think of it, my father had the same thing happen to him, my mom asked him out, well for a dance, instead of him making the first move! Like father like son!) Things kept moving forward from there! I was happier than I had ever been in my life!

It’s like the saying, something usually happens when you least expect it too! (Like my car accident, which you can read about in my previous two entries!) One of the downers though was, soon after I had met by now wife, she was finishing up her J1 Visa internship and was about to head back to her home country, The Philippines. I was heartbroken when I heard about that, but it was okay! It wasn’t going to get in the way of our love for each other! (I know corny right?! Hahaha!) We continued to video call and message each other through Facebook Messenger! Thank man and God creating men to figure out the tech used to let us keep in contact with each other!

Before we knew it, it was 2017, April, the month I went to the Philippines to meet her in person and the rest of her immediate family! Wow was I nervous! But I was also very happy! And not to mention the amazing weather! It was nice and warm! I got to see Antipolo Rizal, Manila, Cebu, and even Boracay! (The Hawaii of the Philippines!) It was an amazing time! It went by way to quickly though…before I knew it, it was time for me to go back the United States…but that was okay! a few weeks later she came back to the United States on another internship! We got married a few months later, and worked on getting her a green card. Now we’re together forever! I’m so happy about that! I couldn’t ask for anyone better! AND she’s an amazing cook!!!

That’s about all I have for now. I’ll continue to create at least one post weekly! So don’t worry my peeps! What is your stories with your significant other? Do you believe in Long Distance Relationships? Let me know in the comments below!
