I’ve Finished Season 2 of GoT, Here Are My Thoughts

This show just keeps getting better and better, finally the action shows it’s face and I’m getting excited! After making it through the first season and then experiencing the second season, I can now tell why people became such fans of this series on HBO. Targaryen’s, Dragons, open rebellion, and White-walkers, oh my!

The key features I took away from this Season

Even though some choices were the wrong choices, I still see the passion and how honorable this house is. I HATE the Lannister’s, the power hungry, money mongering miscreants.

I especially hate Joffrey Baratheon (really Lannister, because of Jaime and Cersei, brother and sister, having an incest relationship during and after the late king Baratheon’s death). They are the worst, and Joffrey is nothing but a coward who beats women and has a sadistic appetite.

The Targaryen’s I’ve come to respect. After Daenerys’ brother was killed, the rightful queen became someone I admired, as she has a kind heart. We know the mad king was, well, mad…and we know her brother was a piece of work as well…but Daenerys’, she’s quite different.

Being the mother of dragons and keeping what remained of her khalasar after her husband Khal Drogo passed due to an infection from a knife blade breaking his skin, we learn that she is compassionate about her people.

This makes me believe that she would be a good queen. Now what I hope to see, (and I know some of you know if this happens or not, don’t tell me…I’m still watching it long after you all have more than likely finished it…) that the Stark’s help out Daenerys Targaryen in taking the capital, Kings Landing, in exchange for being free and King of the Northlands.

In Conclusion

I know there is a lot more to this storY, and I have another 6 seasons to go before being caught up to where the show is on this day (May 10, 2019) but the story is very enriching. I look forward to seeing what season three brings forth.

And if you all are wondering what house I would stand with, it would be House Stark, mainly because the characteristics displayed by the Stark’s are what my own characteristics are, honorable, caring, and family is number one.

I would definitely assist House Targaryen though, as long as they would leave my house alone and give me the freedom I would be seeking under House Stark. Also, I believe Tyrion Lannister is a good man, I don’t think he deserves what the rest of the Lannister’s deserve.

And, besides, Tyrion was and amazing Hand of the King for the short time he was, he exiled the man responsible for backstabbing Lord Stark, and I’m glad about that.

Well I’ll let you know my thoughts on season three once I finish it, thank you for reading this far! I appreciate it!

  • My Three Pet-Peeves and What can be Done to Avoid Them

What are some things that make you all upset? People lying to you? Maybe someone canceling plans with you after you had it set up weeks in advance because of some excuse like, “Oh, work called me in.” Or maybe the worst excuse ever, “I forgot.” Those are just a few aren’t they? Well those are totally adequate pet peeves. Well here are my three pet peeves that I have. Are you ready?

    • Untimeliness
    • Unreliability
    • No Integrity

Timeliness is something that I love to see where I work, especially from the people below me. When you are on time, at your post, and ready to roll for the day, I’m ecstatic! If you are untimely, you make me have to call you to figure out where you’re at and then you say that you thought it was a different day or that you forgot to work, we are going to have huge problems. You are required to be at your post at a specific time, and I expect you to be there. No inadequate excuses like, “Oh, I woke up late” or “Oh, I forgot what time I was suppose to be there.” You have tools to know what time you need to be there, so be there.

Unreliable, if you are a flex officer lets say, and I need you to cover a call off, but because it’s your day off you say no, (which is the wrong answer as a flex, as you are not on a set schedule and need to be free as much as possible. It is stated when you are hired on as one.) Then how are you of any use to the team and the company? I mean, if their are adequate reasons on why you can’t come in, then sure, I’m okay with it, but if you don’t have any actual adequate reasoning to why you aren’t able to cover, just that you are busy or you don’t want to work. We will have HUGE issues. I need reliable people, people who are willing to help the team when needed. We won’t have issues if you are willing to help whenever you can.

No integrity, meaning you just lie through you teeth non-stop. This behavior is just completely unacceptable. If you are going to lie about why you couldn’t be to work, or you are going to lie about arriving to work on time, among so many other ways you could lie to try to get out of something, we WILL have issues. I’m a military man, Integrity is a VERY important factor to me. I need you to tell me the truth, if you aren’t telling the truth you start to become untrustworthy, and before you know it, you will never get the help or respect you need because of all the times you “Cried Wolf”.

I feel that a good workplace would be that of people who are reliable, have integrity, and are timely. This leaves less issues between your co-workers and upper management. It creates a great environment to be a team and to do your job for the client and your company. In security, perception is everything. If you can show that you are doing a great job and keep doing a great job and work with your whole team, you become a must for the client and they want to keep you because you are everything they need.

    All I’m Asking For

    Basically, all I ask for from anyone that works with me or under me is to have these three main traits;

    1. Reliability
    2. Integrity
    3. Timeliness

If you can give me these three things, we will have a great working relationship and a great workplace to be in, and we will be a cohesive team as well. Is this to much to ask from people? What do you all think? Tell me in the comments below!

    At it again! Third Shift

Had to do another third shift again. When will I be on my regular schedule again? I’m always flipping around because certain people aren’t reliable, they do what they want and make the rest of us suffer. Why is this? Does nobody have a work ethic anymore? It makes me wonder…Well here’s the issue. One person decided to not come into work because they were tired…after they were asked if they could do the shift last week and stated they could. Their excuse, “You didn’t give me enough time to sleep before my next shift.” I call bologna!

See, we are well aware that in my field of work, security, we have long hours and back to backs and bounce from one shift, sleep, then bounce to another shift. That’s just how the field of security works, unfortunately. State law and Union rules say, you need eight hours between shifts, and can’t work more than 16 hours total in a 24 hours period. This is truth and fact. So expect that when you are short on hands, you need to pick up the slack. Not getting enough sleep when you have eight hours between your last shift and then next and then that following shift is only five hours long, you don’t have an excuse.

Hell, maybe I’m being to rash, maybe it’s my military background that infuriates me about people like this. In the military, you don’t have any excuses, you’re on the governments time, not your time. You don’t have the option of skipping work because “you’re to tired”, such malarkey! If you only get two hours of sleep, tough! You only got two hours of sleep! So when you live not even 10 minutes from your work site, and you have 8 hours before your next shift, and you didn’t get enough sleep, BULLSHIT!

I’m sorry guys, I’m so heated about this, it isn’t the first time this individual has pulled this, and it probably won’t be the last. It’s quite a nuisance. I’m afraid if they keep it up, they may be out of work sooner rather than later. They’re good people, they just don’t have any work ethic whatsoever. I’m a man of results and punctuality, and reliablity. If you can’t follow these basic traits, you can and will probably get on my bad side. “And you don’t want to see me when I’m angry…”(Hulk, n.d.)

That’s about all I have to rant about today everyone, I know that rants aren’t really something that stand out when you see Schmidt’s View, but I can guarantee these are definitely views I have when it comes to the workplace and just life in general. Hopefully you don’t mind it!

Tell me, do any of you deal with people that are like this at the workplace? Coming up with excuses so dumb that you really have to hit yourself in the head to even understand their point of view? Let me know in the comments below! Joyful, Joyful Northern States…Rant of the Week!

So, January is finally over, the month where the snow was suppose to fall. And here we are, on February 12, 2019, and we are getting hit by ANOTHER snow storm! We literally just got hit by one a few days ago, then another one comes, and then before that, we had that damned polar vortex. Why is the North so cruel? Like seriously, can someone answer that for me? Well to add to the troubles of this terrible month thus far of snow and cold, my shoulder got messed up again, all because of the Army…

I had to scrub a few articles of O.C.I.E. this last weekend, I can’t do a whole lot with that left shoulder yet unfortunately, which kind of sucks…well long story short, I scrubbed a lot and managed to not be able to avoid using my left shoulder in the process, causing a lot of after pain. Yea, Extra Strength Tylenol has become my temporary friend…And to make matters worse, all this damn snow is making my arm hurt even more, it’s also making my neck hurt and my other shoulder…

Why is mother nature so cruel? Why is it causing so much pain to spread through my body? Like seriously, I feel like I’m 60 years old when I’m only 25, with all the pain my body is feeling because of the changes in weather because damned Mother Nature can’t make up her mind on what she wants the rest of our Winter season to look like. I’m really hoping that Spring gets here mighty quick now, so that my shoulder and the rest of my body can stop hurting. That would be the greatest thing ever!

Whats more is I still am waiting on my Car Paperwork and such to get taken care of. My paperwork to get my totaled car out of my hair has yet to be finished by the Third-Party company…on top of that, I still have to send a police report to my lien holder so the GAP insurance claim can start rolling. So I’m still paying for this vehicle that I don’t own anymore. It kind of blows…hopefully by the end of this week that’ll get itself rolling and be finished before the end of the month. Being free of a car payment for a car I don’t own anymore would be very awesome!

I know, this was a VERY pessimistic view, or rant I should call it. There really hasn’t been anything very positive going on in my life as of late just yet…Still waiting for that positivity (that’s a real word right??) to show up ever since my car accident almost two months ago. Where is it? Hopefully it’ll be here way sooner than later, it would be appreciated!!!

But what about a sliver of good news?

Even though this has been a pessimistic rant for the most part, here is a positive for you all! I’m finally caught up on my classwork!!! Yay! I’m that much closer to having that Graphic Arts Degree! AND I will be done with the Army in two months! That’s about all the positivity I have for you this time around! Sorry!! But hey, at least it’s something right?

Well all, thank you for listening to my rant for today, I know it’s been awhile since my last post, but I’m working on putting a blog post up at least once a week here soon instead of sporadically! So stay tuned as that’s coming your way here withing the next few weeks! Also, if you want to know when a new post comes out for this blog, follow me over on Twitter at my handle @tshumitto!

    My Car Accident Pt. 3

Well as you all already know, I was in a car accident, just over a month ago. I went to the doctors a couple of weeks ago and was told that I didn’t need surgery, which was good. Now we’re today, the third party insurance company I’ve been working with for the health coverage portion has been the absolute worse. They contacted me about two weeks ago, just a few days ago I received a letter stating that I needed to call a Sr. Medical Claims Representative through the Company of Broadspire, so I did. Not to my surprise, I went straight to a voicemail.

I gave it a couple of days and tried to call again, and yet again, I got voicemail. What the hell right? Well this has been my life for the last month with this third party insurance crap. It was phone tag with the first part, which was the totaling of my vehicle, but finally it’s in my part of the field. I have to sign quite a bit of paper work still, but afterwards, it shouldn’t be to long at all before the car portion of this whole fiasco has been completed.

The place I’m having trouble with now, is Broadspire, the medical insurance claims company. Today, I called them five times, once to the person I’m suppose to call, no answer, just voicemail. Second time was to another person that I needed to contact to see if they could give me info on why the first person didn’t answer, voicemail again. I don’t know if I’m just unlucky or what, but it seems every damn representative I get, goes on vacation. They don’t even pass on the case to someone who’s available to take over while they’re gone, they basically say; “Screw you, you’re my client, and you have to wait for me.”

In my opinion that’s the wrong attitude, I wonder if the get commission or something from finishing claim cases. Regardless, I finally called Broadspire main HQ, the customer service rep answered there, and gave me another number, the number to the man in charge of the individual that was suppose to take care of my case. Guess what? You guessed it, they didn’t answer either! Finally I called the first person that I was working with that gave me the application to fill out and send back to them, and again, they didn’t answer. See my frustration? Every single person that’s suppose to be working on my medical claim aren’t doing their job, which makes me very unhappy, and I’m sure many others, who are working with them too, are very unhappy.

Broadspire is crap, to put it bluntly. I can say, I won’t Uber anymore after all this, I may switch to Lyft, because the company Uber uses for insurance is the slowest moving group of third party insurance agencies I’ve ever seen. If this was my insurance company, I would’ve been done a while ago. I’m sorry if this rant isn’t normally what I write up, but I needed to vent. It’s frustrating when you have large medical bills coming in and not enough to cover any of it because your personal injury isn’t under you own insurance but someone else’s.

Let me know in the comments below, any of you have to deal with anything like this? Where you’re waiting weeks to hear back from third party companies on something you had put in weeks ago?
